Italian art lovers and people who want to spend holidays or a short stay dedicated to art, Mantua, in the north of Italy near Verona-Milan and Bologna and its province have a lot of holiday farms, B&B, country houses where you can spend a pleasant time in a complete relax. Holiday farms are plunged into nature, in harmony with the environment, but also comfortable to reach quickly the most important city of art in the north of Italy. Bergamo is a middle age well-preserved city where small craft shops alternate with mighty main doors, that preserve important architecture and art treasure. In the centre of the city, hidden between alleys and little spears, there are gardens and fountains. Mantua, the city of Gonzaga family, native country of Virgilio, the great Latin poet, preserve important token of Mantegna, Pisanello and Giulio Romano. Mantua, art city between 3 lakes, preserve intact a great number of works of art, that have inestimable architectural, pictorial, cultural and historical value. Brescia is set between the fertile Po valley and Prealps, between Milan and Venice, offers to its tourist a beautiful historic centre, its typical food and well-known wines. Brescia is an important centre for fairs and exhibitions and has a lot of museums and a beautiful surrounding area, too. Milan is an important industrial centre in the north of Italy, is set in the Po valley, between the rivers Ticino, Adda and Po. Milan is Italian financial and economical capital and has with its universities an essential role in the fashion industry. There are a lot of art and culture places, such as Brera picture gallery and Cenacolo museum. Other places are now and then mounted for exhibitions. Como, in the west limit of the lake having the same name, has a lot of places to visit: the lake front, arched around the lake, with its magic atmosphere, Duomo Square, with the municipal tower, Broletto ancient town hall, the Duomo with the two statues of old and young Plinio, St. Fedele Basilica, ancient city cathedral and St. Abbondio Basilica, work of Romanesque-Lombardy genius. Pavia is fascinating for its mysterious light and shade on its Romanesque basilicas, for its magnificent castle of a viscount, for its romantic “Ponte Coperto” (covered bridge) in the historical centre, which has a lot of historic palaces and houses of important families of the city, too. It is also well-known, the Pavia Carthusian monastery a beautiful building and garden complex, with the monastery, the church and the cloisters of the carthusian monks. Cremona province is set in the rich valley of north Italy between the rivers Po, Adda and Oglio. Historic monuments and artistic places to visit are, among the other St. Margente church, St. Pietro al Po, the bell tower, the town hall, soldier loggia and a lot of palaces of the Renaissance. Sondrio has a beautiful natural landscape; in its background it is possible to see the Retic alps, on the left between the wine yard set in terrace appears the rocky summit of Grumello mountain with its middle aged castle with the same name. On the right Orobie chain marks the natural boundaries of Sondrio and Bergamo provinces. Lodi, a charming city full of story, tradition art and culture offers to its tourists and operators the opportunity of living a very interesting tourist and human experience. Lecco area became famous during the past century thanks to “ I promessi sposi” (the Betrothed), a romance written by Alessandro Manzoni and set in this arm of the lake. Lecco and its neighbourhood are well-known (also today) as manzonian places and it is possible to visit the very famous setting, such as Lucia’s house, father Abbondio parish ( it is Saint Vitale and Valeria church, in Borgo Olate), Don Rodrigo house, on Zucco hill, the castle of the Unnamed on Chiuso and finally Brother Cristoforo Monastery, in Pescarenico
