 |
The Mantuan area offers many resources to the tourist who longs for a serene, relaxing cultural dimension, which is at the same time permeated with intense charm: as well as the famous art and history treasures and the innumerable itineraries through nature, we propose aspects which are less known, nut not less exciting, and roads which lead to charming, often unknown environments.
Countryside is the protagonist of these routes, which are a suggestion to approach it and know it in its multiform shades: the museums of the rural civilization , the lands reclaimed from water, the great river, the itineraries on horseback and by bicycle, the traditional products, handicraft….
Surrender softly to the charm of this land.

 The countess and the city

Memories of rural culture in the province of Mantua
In the Mantuan area there are various ways of remembering a rural world which has now unfortunately almost disappeared. These include museums of the rural civilization and family museums. The first houses tools and utensils found after patient researches or otherwise donated to the museum over the years. The family museums are collections of objects inside farms or "aziende agrituristiche" (farmhouse hotels and restaurants). These objects often belong to the history of the farm and the family itself, and were used generation after generation until a few decades ago. - more...
